We taught through the Doctrines of Grace at the Expositors Conference in November (talks available on Resource page). A group of pastors asked us to come teach the conference material in Kasungu, two hours north of Lilongwe. Pastor Ernest and Pastor Emmanuel traveled to Kasungu for two days of teaching through the T.U.L.I.P. acronym. The unique aspect of this conference was that it was taught completely in Chichewa (Malawi’s most widely spoken vernacular language). This made a very noticeable difference in the attendees’ engagement and understanding. The two days were very fruitful and has set the stage for ongoing training that CAPA will offer in Kasungu. We’ve established a partnership with Central Africa Baptist University (CABU) in Zambia, to offer their Theological Studies by Extension (TSE) curriculum to this cohort of pastors and church leaders in Kasungu. We have a CAPA graduate there who helps to lead the group, named Kennedy Kwenda. He will help us coordinate the training which will start in June and will be held quarterly over the next three years. We’re very excited about this opportunity to start offering regular training outside of Lilongwe, over a sustained period of time, and in Chichewa.
