Zambia Visit

A group of four from CAPA traveled to Zambia in mid-September for the purpose of visiting like-minded schools and to learn from their experience in Christian Education and Pastoral Training. We started in Kitwe at Central African Baptist University (ACU), where Phil Hunt and his team warmly welcomed us. We spent the entire day meeting the leadership team and learning about the school- Vision and Purpose, Academic Programs, Theological Studies by Extension, Radio, and Administration (www.cabuniversity.com). We were able to briefly meet Pastor Conrad Mbewe as he was in Kitwe teaching a graduate studies module (and Lord willing, he’ll be coming to Malawi in July 2024 to speak at our Church conference). We then headed to Lusaka to visit African Christian University (ACU) and spent the afternoon with their Vice Chancellor and Dean of Academics- attending chapel, touring their campus, and hearing about the school (acu-zambia.com). In the evening we were privilege to share a meal with Pastor Ronald Kalifungwa, as he shared from his 30+ years of pastoral ministry about church partnerships and networks. Much like the trip to Uganda, we came back excited about all that God is doing in Zambia, and how we can follow a similar path here in Malawi towards faithful training of church leaders in Malawi.
